Since its foundation in 1949, the LPGA hosts many tournaments. Among them, the Women’s PGA Championship is, the Women’s British Open, the Women’s Australian Open, and the Women’s PGA Championship are all held at the LPGA. The Women's PGA Championship today is the second oldest major.

Carlton Woods hosts lpga’s major

The Chevron championship is the LPGA’s new major tournament. The tournament will be played at The Club of Carlton Woods Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. The tournament is part a five-year agreement. It will also be televised live at NBC Sports.

It opened for play in 2001. It is well-known for its greens with bunkers and undulating terrain. It hosted U.S. Junior Amateur, which was won by Will Zalatoris. It has also hosted qualifying rounds for the U.S. Open tournament and LPGA Tour events. It also hosted the final edition of the LPGA Tour's Mission Hills tournament in Rancho Miro, California, where Jennifer Kupcho took a final leap into Poppie's Pond for the win.

Carlton Woods boasts a strong junior program

Carlton Woods is well-known for its strong junior program. In the past, Tiger Woods, David Duval and Rickie Fowler have played at the HP Boys Championship. This invitation-only tournament also raises money to support junior golfers. Over $44,000 has been donated by HP Boys Championship to local schools, charities, as well as an AJGA ACE grant. The AJGA presented awards last year to recognize the event's best media coverage, charitable giving, and outstanding media reporting.

Carlton Woods is a top-tier golf resort and the host of the 2014 U.S. Junior Amateur. This championship will take place at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at the club. It features contoured greens, deep bunkering and frontal water hazards. It is also a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The certification has been renewed every year since 2003. Louise Suggs started the LPGA

Louise Suggs founded the LPGA, a tour for women that competes in golf's major championships. Suggs along with her two companions helped establish the organization. The rules were established and tournaments organized. They were also involved in the promotion of teaching clinics.


Suggs hosted a 72-hole competition in West Palm Beach, Florida in the 1960s. In this tournament, Suggs competed against fellow LPGA and PGA professionals.

The second-oldest of the five lpga majors is the Women's PGA Championship.

The Women's PGA Championship features the best female golfers in the world. The tournament is the second-oldest among the five majors. It dates back to 2005. The Ladies European Tour does NOT recognize it as major. It is open to players all over the world.

The Women's PGA Championship (one of five LPGA majors) is often played at courses that hosted men's majors. Since 1955 when the event was first held, it has not missed one year. In fact, 11 of those years were played at Wilmington’s DuPont Golf Club. In 1994, McDonald's became the title sponsor.
