While women are often forgotten in the running world, a few of them have made a significant impact. Rita Jeptoo, for example, won the Chicago and Boston marathons back-to-back in 2013 and 2014. She was later banned from competing for four years for using EPO. Chebet was later succeeded by Agnes Jebet Tirop (a teenager) in the 2015 IAAF World Cross.

Keira D'Amato

Keira D'Amato, a famous female runner, has an unusual story. Keira D'Amato, an elite athlete, has a hectic life. She also works in Real Estate as well as running. Keira broke Deena's marathon record by 24 seconds in the US last year. At just 37 years old, Keira is already a well-established athlete, but she started out as a hobby jogger. Keira D'Amato graduated from American University and went on to become a Realtor. She also had two children, and participated in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Paula Jane Radcliffe

Famous female runner Paula Jane Radcliff has achieved international success in the long-distance running events. She is a three time champion of the London Marathon, the New York Marathon, and the 2002 Chicago Marathon winner. She has won many other races.

Helene de Pourtales

Helene de Pourtales was born in New York. She was the daughter in a wealthy tobacco family. Isaac Barbey her father founded the tobacco empire and Helene's mother is a Lolliard hailing from France. Helene was a natural at running and soon married Hermann Alexandre de Pourtales (a Huguenot ancestor). The couple had three girls. Helene got her love for horses from the maternal side of her family.


Allison Stokke

Allison Stokke (female runner, pole vaulter, and athlete) is well-known. She was born in Newport Beach and is white. She was educated at Newport Harbor High School and then went on to study at the University of California. Stokke won many records in pole vaulting and other sports while at both schools. Stokke also advocates healthy food and encourages others.

Tia-Clair Toomey

Tia-Claire Toomey, a famous female runner, has been one the most successful athletes in the past year. She is the face for female fitness. Her results are impressive every time she competes. She won 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games. Toomey was able to overcome a difficult start and lead the competition through the end.

Allison Baver

Allison Baver was a former U.S. Olympian and announced her retirement from competitive running Monday. She has been an Olympian three time, her first being in 2002, when the U.S. women's 3000m relay squad in Salt Lake City featured her as an alternate. In addition, Allison has competed in the 2006 Torino Winter Games and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, where she finished third in the 3000m relay. Allison suffered a devastating injury in 2009 when her right ankle was broken and her leg was fractured in a fall with a friend. Unfortunately, she suffered this injury one year before her scheduled appearance at the Vancouver Olympics 2010.
